Prof Anna Ryan

Professor Anna Ryan is a medical doctor and the Head of the Department of Medical Education (DME) at the Melbourne Medical School. With a PhD in Medical Education, she has an extensive background in teaching, clinical practice, and research supervision for doctoral candidates.

Her primary expertise lies in the strategic use of assessment to guide learning, balancing educational goals with certification of competence and patient safety. Anna holds influential leadership roles in health professional regulation and accreditation, including significant work with the Australian Medical Council. She is also a Fellow of ANZAHPE and serves as an associate editor for Advances in Health Sciences Education.
